Taco Steve and Bank Street Brewhouse: Louisville media ink for New Albany indies.

It's a little known fact that Stephen Powell's employment with NABC predated my own, back when it was Sportstime Pizza. His bricks 'n' mortar taco outlet is only five short blocks from my house, and the food is just as good as Kevin Gibson says in his Insider Louisville piece.

Taco Steve finds permanent space in New Albany; menu expanding

For a number of years, I could always count on Steve Powell to bring me a beer when I stopped in at New Albanian Brewing Co. Now, I can count on Powell to serve up some darn tasty Mexican food.

Speaking of NABC, Kevin also devoted column inches to Bank Street Brewhouse.

... And it’s working. NABC teamed up with Earth Friends Café owner Stacie Bale last year, installing a vegan-friendly menu that also features New Albanian beers in its recipes. The result is an offering that could please carnivores, vegetarians, vegans and even the gluten-averse pretty equally.

Signature burgers and sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads, intriguing sides and appetizers, and brown basmati rice bowls all fall into a concept Bank Street refers to as “Culinary Anarchy.”

Another little known fact. I was the "gentleman" quoted by Kevin. Of course, that kind of brings up the question of his reporting skills.

Credit his mother if not his journalism school.
