"It Starts and Ends with You."

An early contender for my official "sweeping hooks" song of Spring, 2013, and a big thanks to Bluegill for directing my attention to Bloodsports, this wonderful new album by Suede. Italics below are mine ... and boy, does that solitary sentence fragment speak volumes.

... But if Bloodsports stays faithful to Suede’s signature sound, it represents a refreshing evolution in spirit. This is not the place to go to indulge your student-disco nostalgia; rather than try to swagger back onto the scene and try to out-snort men half their age, Suede shrewdly draw our attention to those youthful indiscretions-- ego, insecurity, obsession-- that we never seem to outgrow. -- review by Stuart Berman in Pitchfork
