I've never been able to stomach most of the cinematic fluff churned out in America, and if this makes me an elitist, then go tell it to the troglodytes.
"Once Upon A Time in Anatolia," a serious Turkish film, is my kind of brain-engaging viewing. Not so much entertainment in the juvenile car chase sense, but a genuine exercising of human consciousness.
You can Google the reviews if you wish, but better to open a bottle of wine, watch, drink and think. This one is highly recommended, and available on Netflix.
