Todd Blue Moves.

The great Charlie Pierce famously enjoys maligning the web site Politico by referring to it as "Tiger Beat on the Potomac."

And what is Tiger Beat?

Tiger Beat is an American fan magazine marketed primarily to adolescent girls. It is currently published by Laufer Media, Inc. of Los Angeles, California, which also produces its sister publication, Bop.

I'm tempted to declare that henceforth, as it pertains to its breathless fawning, fluffing and fellating of the business community, Insider Louisville should be known as Tiger Beat on the Ohio. Tempted, but I shan't ... primarily because Kevin Gibson and Steve Coomes do good work.

It's just so very tiresome to be asked to worship "business" people, when so many other sectors of humanity are far worthier. The cult of business is a sickness and an aberration, even if I'm engaged in it. Admire artists, musicians and even the occasional second baseman. Do not look to folks like Todd Blue as role models. It's beyond kinky. It's ugly.

Speaking of Blue, who cares whether he is here in Louisville or peddling auto-centrism in Houston?

Todd Blue: No city our size has this many billboards with a college president’s face on them, by Terry Boyd

... Blue says his departure is more about Louisville than it is about him.

“‘Do we want to lose young, aggressive entrepreneurs?’ is a different question than about Todd Blue leaving town,” he said ...

... “It’s a beautiful, beautiful community. But there is nothing to gain by being politically correct.”

It's getting deep in here.

When an American Business Idol says it isn't about the money, it is, and when he insists it isn't about him ... it also is; in Blue's self-aggrandizing case, incessantly so, seeing as Boyd's piece doomed us forthwith to a follow-up from Blue himself, in which he declares Mayor Fischer the greatest ever, trembles with glee over the Ohio River Bridges Project, and in short, makes very little sense at all, rather like the boys and girls screaming in ecstasy over their pre-pubescent heroes.

Hence, Tiger Beat on the Ohio. However, even a stopped clock is right twice a day, and Todd Blue is no exception.

Todd Blue: ‘U of L is not Louisville, and Louisville is not U of L’, by Todd Blue

... There are many businesspeople in Louisville who feel this way but cannot speak to this because they have to live and operate – and compete – with U of L. Heck, maybe they are scared U of L will pull their season tickets.
