He dribbles, pumps, fakes ... and ... and ...

I've received a campaign message from Ron Grooms, via Facebook.

Ron Grooms (October 19, 2010 at 12:05pm) ... Subject: Final Days to Victory

My high school basketball coach used to say, stay focused, stay ready and follow through on each shot.
I snipped the remainder, which was about phone banks, yard signs and such. What I'm wondering is this: What kind of roundball offense is denoted by serial abstentions on key issues?

Is it Dean Smith's keep-away Four Corner?

It may have been a while since the candidate played, so might someone tell him that in basketball, logically speaking, the "follow through" must be preceded by actually launching a shot.

I wish posts were more interesting.

Really? It's not interesting that two men who seek voting control over the state budget refuse to share their views on financing a $4 to $5 billion public project?

it happens everyday, you act like this is some great news story.

I'd rather see Roger's opinion of the French Riots going on and how similar they are to the 68'

That's way more interesting than who's going to spend money in a stupid way regardless of what we here or anyone in New Albany thinks, it's in vain. The council does it, the mayor does it, special interest supported by the city gov. does it.

What's the big fuss?

It is the ultimate expression of apathy to cynically render oneself impotent of the power they innately possess as a citizen.

LB,

It's a relevant local news story, particularly with elections pending. Perhaps you should seek out France Confidential or it's equivalent.

The authority the people you mention have to spend money at all is based purely on what people think.

I have a great photo set of the '68 riots, BTW. Maybe we can check them out over a beer some time.

Otherwise, what Steve said.

You're right

Grab a gun and meet me at the county building!

We're going to have another Marion County Court room incident!

Maybe instead of the R.A.F we can start the P.A.F, and instead of the sub-machine gun we can use something more indigenous like a double barrel shot gun?

I thought this was the French blog of New Albany?

It's the only place in metro Louisville that celebrates Bastille Day.

I wonder if we really have that power anymore or the "people" ever had it.

Is it apathy or being a realist?

Do we live in an oligarchy with the veil of democracy?

Look at the current mid-term elections. I would never have thought that the Dems would be in the shape they are in.

Maybe I need to pray more to the right God. Aqua Buddha seems to answer prayers.

Guns? Now there's something completely unimaginative and boring.
If you have any strong street theater of the absurd ideas, let me know. It's difficult to not be derivative in this environment.

fair enough

I was disappointed in the last few postings that's all.

oh, BTW most NABC beer gives me heartburn.

street theater? like the jets vs. the sharks? Or Michael Jackson's gang vs. the Cobras in Beat It?

You know what would motivate me to be more politically active? No, not that I would have to pay $3 to cross the bridge into New Albany, but rather...

If we could knock the elite off Floyds Knobs, more specifically right across the Woods of Lafyette where they are suppose to put new McMansions with stellar views of Louisville. They should instead put a park there for all of the community to share and enjoy the great views of the valley.

They wouldn't even need to put play ground equipment or a water slide the open plateau is good enough the way it is.

How can we do that?

Bonjour, lafyetteblues.

Your attention is drawn to the terms of engagement on the right side of the blog's main page.

I am amused so far, so please consider compliance. Thanks.

BTW, why not lafayette?

Culling Angela Davis is quite the yesterday. Glib asides to the french and armed resistance are but canned tuna.

Lafayette was already taken

Jon are you addressing me or Roger? Because there is a communist room with pictures of Marx on the wall, and there is a French menu at the NABC.

I have no French connection, my screen name is a reference to a White Stripes song "Lafayette Blues" The lyrics of the song are all the different French street names in Detroit since it was first occupied by them.
