New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?

We received THREE of these yesterday, all different. I foolishly believe each time that the respective mailers won't get any worse.
Despicable.
On a brighter note, the church next to the NA/FC library is hosting end time prophecy sermons once a week now.
These are grotesque and awful. The sleaze of this year's elections seems worse than ever and there are no innocents left.
Jeff, I'll have to pass on this year's end time sermons. I'll probably have to wait until the next round or the round after that one.
It's funny. Every generation has decreed that their generation was the last generation. And, thus far, every generation has been wrong. They make their claim using Scripture, but they play a game called Scriptural Hopscotch. I was never good at that game. :-)
I sent the following message to the Indiana Democratic Central Committee:
Mr. Parker:
I am a registered and very loyal Democrat. But these latest mailings against Ed Clere are vile. I am a strong supporter of
Shane Gibson, who is a friend, but these mailings will NOT help him. I was disgusted with the slimy mailings that the Indiana Republican Party sent out against Shane. In fact, I sent them back to Republican Hq with a note saying they had mistaken me for an idiot. I would say the same about these despicable and ridiculous accusations against Clere. It's sad, at this late date, that you would attempt to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!

It's sad that this is what politics has come to. Who can send out the nastiest, most negative mailers? I know the Dems probably feel like this was a justified response to the earlier HRCC fliers, but it's not. Maybe they're afraid of another "bloody knife" ad. They should have stayed above it and let the HRCC take the low road. Instead, they've decided to play at the level and it's a damn shame.
Hopefully, some day, we can have a campaign based on actual issues and not the vile campaign ads we've seen in the last two races.
This is all just another argument for major campaign finance reform. We'll see which of the candidates, if elected, will push for it.
Shane posted on facebook that he was unaware of these and has called to stop them.
It was bad enough when it was one of them, but the onslaught of cards that basically say the same thing with different pictures is the very definition of 'ad nauseum'
SEVEN. SEVEN in my mailbox. This is absoeffinglutely ridiculous. I'm spitting nails. All parties represented.
Received an anti-Freiberger ad today with pictures of him and President Obama. Maybe Obama is considering Chuck for VP next go around? Otherwise, I don't get why they would try to tie a county councilman to the US President.
Some of the anti-Shane ads did the same thing, trying to tie him to the health care reform (which I would be out promoting if I had anything to do with it). Strange tactics.
Agreed, bayernfan. And the ones from Grooms saying that unemployment is up since Freiberger took office. Well gee, Ron Grooms, it's up since you took office, too.
Nice to see a broader discussion concerning candidates.
Where else can kid touchers go?
