Growing Local Value is a book I've read recently and had a lot of terrific ideas.

Wanting to change my zip code is a double entendre, though you've hit on a raison d'ĂȘtre.
Perhaps my personal favorite explanation as to why we can't talk about this stuff as a community is because not enough people are talking about it yet.
