Task #325 was picking up my wife at work, and #326 quickly became an evening of dining on the patio at Varanese on Frankfort Avenue -- that's right, the uncouncilman Steve Price's pet bogey street -- with live jazz, red wine, beef, halibut, curried lamb empanadas, shrimp seviche, tawny port and too many reasons to count for why it was a better idea to eat, drink and celebrate life than rush back across the river to listen to the prattle of the usual clueless suspects.
But if you were there, please ... discuss.

I left at 8:45. Public comments were JUST starting. The council has absolutely no trust in anything the administration brings. And, to some extent, I can't blame them.
It's apparent the council suspects that the adm will take any money that is appropriated and spend it wherever they prefer, regardless of the original intent. Their fears are not groundless. The administration does not help their cause by coming to meetings with few, if any details on their plans. Lack of time to properly prepare and present the details? Or, lack of details lends itself to maximum "flexibility" in spending the appropriation?
Add the tremendous amount of distrust to the normal political posturing and it is a bad, bad situation. Add to that, a city election just on the horizon and it worse than bad. It's toxic.
I couldn't have said it better myself Mark.
Wow -- even Chinese spammers think Coffey is a joke as councilman.
RemCha,
Guess that means one of us is wrong!! (vvbg)
Thanks,
Mark
