Deal struck for Shrader Stables, by Daniel Suddeath (News and Tribune)
The New Albany Redevelopment Commission has reached a deal to sell the Shrader Stables property to Resch Construction, Deputy Mayor Carl Malysz confirmed Wednesday.
Malysz said details of the transaction would be divulged during a Jan. 12 commission meeting.
As is mentioned in the article, Steve Resch has been involved with the renovation and adaptive reuse of several downtown New Albany buildings, including NABC's Bank Street Brewhouse.
Here's hoping for another success story.

I hear that Mr. Resch has plans for a very sizable and impressive investment in rehabilitating the property. The uniform blue-green paint and boarded up windows disguise what is still one of the most impressive (though virtually hidden) historic facades in New Albany. In recent years, the eyesore has been an economic and cultural burden for downtown. I’m eager to see it again contribute to New Albany’s success and Mr. Resch is someone who can make that happen.
The neglect clock was ticking for the stables. We should thank Greg Sekula for his tireless efforts to see that the property was not forgotten before it was too late. Without Greg’s efforts in seeing that an RFP was issued, etc., I don’t know if all of the elements would have come together the very promising way that they did.
