Footsteps in cement, from Sarajevo to Bank Street.

When I saw the footsteps (since ineptly "repaired" by Vectren's hired street assassins) ...

... in front of Muscle Monkey ...

... I thought about these famous footsteps in cement.

The Sarajevo footsteps were intended by the Yugoslav government to show where Gavrilo Princip stood one hundred years ago (this June 28) when he shot the Archduke Franz Ferdinand. I saw them in 1987. During the Yugoslav civil war in the 1990s, the steps were obliterated by besieged Bosnians.

Princip stood in front of a delicatessen. I have no idea what the steps in front of Muscle Monkey were intended to symbolize, apart from someone like me, pissing on the concept of one-way streets.
