Apart from that minor quibble, and to paraphrase the Czech proverb: Blessed is the city that houses a brewer.
Jeffersonville undoubtedly moves forward with the prospective addition of fresh local beer beer, making our friend Goliath so very happy that he even has kind words for the incumbent.
Currently there are 63 breweries in the state of Indiana, with numerous other being planned, including Red Yeti and Point Blank in Corydon. When every hamlet in the state is no more than a day's bike ride from a brewery, Hoosierdom will have arrived. But would be remain red, or turn blue? Is there a correlation? Inquiring minds want to know, but not until after we've had a few liters.
Congrats to Red Yeti and downtown Jeffersonville.
A BREWING BUSINESS: Red Yeti Brewing Co. cuts the ribbon on downtown brew pub, by Braden Lammers (News and Tribune)
... Paul (Ronau) said the idea for opening a brew pub started while the couple still lived in California.
An information technology employee with UPS, he said he has been a home brewer for some time and decided that he wanted to turn pro. But the prospects of opening the restaurant while the couple was living in California were not feasible.
Brandi, who said she had been working in restaurants in California, said the couple could not overcome the hurdles of launching a startup on the west coast. The Salem native decided it would be a better fit if they came back to Southern Indiana to try and launch their business.
Paul explained that the plan was, initially, to locate near Avon.
Their real estate agent, Mike Kopp, vice president of commercial sales with ReMax First, pointed them to downtown Jeffersonville.
