New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?

"Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations."
~James Madison
Make NO mistake about it, if this ban is passed, and The Civil City of New Albany continues to receive even one red cent from tobacco taxes, it will show that is hypocrisy know no bounds. Our elected council will pounce on the media hyped bandwagon seeking kudos from the tobacco coalitions, yet basicly refuse to deal with the health, safety, and welfare dangers from the horrible state of code enforcement.
Pathetic showboating at best, allowing our city's ordinances to be pimped out like a $2 hooker by the lobbyists at best.
