Redistricting plan rejected: "We have all been here before," whispers King Larry via hologram.

Gasoline top-offs come, bicentennials go, and councilman Zurschmiede always comes back to the mic to sing those most immortal of New Albanian legacy mantras: "What's going on under the ground, hmmm?"

Redistricting plan voted down by New Albany council, by Daniel Suddeath (News and Tribune)

NEW ALBANY — Though the measure passed on initial readings, the New Albany City Council voted down a redistricting measure Monday on the final ballot.

The ordinance would have established new district parameters, however it would not have pitted any current council members against each other in the 2015 municipal election.

But those who opposed the plan said the ordinance split too many precincts in an effort to even up the population numbers and could confuse the voters who would be moved to a new district.

The proposal called for five precincts to be split.

Partying like it's 1993 (or 1900) as parks secession legislation passes.

(The council president tries in vain to extinguish the hallowed torch of city park liberty)

Via Twitter, the News and Tribune's Daniel Suddeath reports that the city and county park system's divorce is final.

Earlier in the evening, I predicted on Twitter that Bob "CeeSaw" Caesar would live up to my escalating disdain and change his vote. As you can see, he flipped. Somewhere out in his garage, King Larry Kochert is tumescent, and maybe even incandescent.

2 - The editors recap last night's city council meeting via Twitter.

Begin at the bottom, and scroll up.

Okay, we singlehandedly did the newspaper's job these last hours, and without malfunctioning popups. Time to sleep.
It would be city's, so perhaps maintenance will be outsourced to Clean & Green. Foo foo design, much upkeep it would seem.
A very good question I've not heard asked out loud, especially given the current parks situation. Who controls and maintains?
Am I being alarmist? If Rent Boy Pk is built as designed, we'll never maintain it correctly? Experience hath shown ...
There's a package deal, too, called the Park and Ride.
This bicentennial item will stir your soul deep within. And just might come with a centurian helmet attachment.
Speak for yourself. I sold my soul for a free sidewalk, and all I got was this lousy bicentennial coloring book.
Coffey once again had a positive spat differential. I never suspected how Price actually dragged Coffey down. Free at last.
All I know for sure is that least one item will take multiple D batteries.
We always thought it was us who'd get bought out. We were wrong. It was tonight's front row.
Speaking of radical -- wink nudge -- don't forget my idea for logoed sales opportunities.
As was discussed during a piss, when Coffey sounds like the Dalai Lama as compared to the junta, something karmic is happening.
It was riveting theater, for sure, providing a completely different Coup d'Geriatrique from previous years.
One day, we'll figure out that it's always the same people asking for public money and we socialists and radicals objecting.
Then there was Bobcentennial Caesar, voting in favor for junta monies and his own insurance. Whatever became of "abstain?"
My prize goes to Mrs. England-- and Bob Caesar saying absolutely nothing during her performance.
Of course, Shelle England's "all these junta folks with me cannot speak for themselves, so I won't, until I do" moment.
Then there was Coffey explaining Landmarks' out turned pockets to Rev. Marshall.
What was tonight's most revealing moment? We must consider KZ's "I'm a Republican, so I work 48 hours a day" routine.
When Megenity takes a cheap shot at Coffey and Coffey rightfully bodyslams him, here comes entertainment.
