6 new eateries for downtown New Albany, by Madeleine Winer (Courier-Journal)

A casual seafood joint, a bread company and new pizza place are just a few restaurants foodies can expect to see pop up in downtown New Albany this year.

District 22 Pizzeria

Want a medium pizza and six pack of New Albanian Brewing Co.'s Hoptimus delivered to your door?

The owner of Big Four Burgers + Beer is looking to make that happen.

Matt McMahan plans to move his concept for the to-go pizza and craft beer joint, called District 22, next to Big Four Burgers and hopes to be open by March. He said the biggest hurdle in making his concept a reality was getting a liquor license that would allow him to sell and also deliver beer.

"About a year and a half ago, I discovered you could do it," he said. "I'm pretty pumped about it. We're going to focus on craft beer and being able to deliver. That is huge."

McMahan said the restaurant, at 110 East Main St., also will have retail space to sell bourbon, beer and wine. The menu will feature a variety of pizza and toppings as well as sandwiches and appetizers from Big Four Burger's menu, including beer cheese.

Downtown NA: Lady Tron's is open for regular business hours, and Taco Steve has resumed them.

When to visit Lady Tron's.

In the former Little Chef space, corner of Market and Bank.

Lady Tron's is a quirky soup and sandwich shop with a retro outer space vibe! We have a hip atmosphere and also specialize in speedy carry out orders.

As you can see, regular hours have been posted and Lady Tron's is open (as the Germans would say, Ruhetag is Wednesday). Go to the Facebook page for updates and details.

Also, Taco Steve will be back on duty as of Tuesday morning. He was temporarily closed owing to a family emergency.

Whoa.

The old Little Chef/Coqui's is the new Lady Tron's, coming soon, with a whole new color scheme.

The photo below is mine, and the one above is by Michael Wimmer, who says "The former Little Chef in New Albany gets a new face lift by Art Cartel."

Most recently Coqui's Cafe, the space is being transformed into Lady Tron's.

New owners, new menu, and a new paint job underway! This is the former "Coqui's" / "Little Chef" in downtown New Albany, now known as "Lady Tron's." Please share the news with your friends and family. We plan to open in December, serving fresh and delicious soups and sandwiches.

In case you haven't seen it, the most recent Art Cartel decor job in New Albany was the Honey Creme building: See the sweet new public doughnut art at NA's classic Honey Creme Donuts.
