New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?

It might well be a bargaining chip in leading the Kentucky legislature to allowing racetrack casinos.
Unfair advantage and all that.
Nothing like a couple of monopolies duking it out legislatively to determine the public good in a free market.
The Sherman Minton Bridge: Gateway to 8th and Culbertson ... and Spring Street Hill ... and (fill in blank) ...
I'll be glad when they extend that big road up Spring Street Hill through the neighborhood and convert it to one-way so we can connect with the interstate. It "really is a major artery" after all.
Tolls on eastern and downtown bridges are going to divert a lot of traffic to the area. Cutting that road off prematurely isn't just a matter of convenience for a handful of residents but a safety "risk" we can't afford not to address.
