Thoughts for Monday.

Thank heavens it’s over: Blunder Over Louisville.

Thank heavens they’ve started: The NBA playoffs.

Thank heavens for upgrades: Laundering your cell phone is not recommended.

And now, alas, it’s time to return to work …

I'm a contrarian at heart. If 800,000 people enjoy it ... well, you know the rest.

Actually, the military glorification angle's probably the only part that genuinely disturbs me.

Ironic. It's Screw the Earth Day, celebrated the same day the rest of the world celebrates Earth Day.

Thank you both for those two observations.

It's good to know that there are other thinking people in the neighborhood.

I'd have posted this earlier today, but Blogger was being Blogger.

Will it take some kind of an accident to put all of this scary air show in downtown L'ville to a close? It is bad enough that copious amounts of aircraft approach LIA daily, but this air show of aggression is a bit much for an urban landscape. Maybe I'm alone on this but, aren't most air shows like this away from downtown areas and crowds of people. I was tucked away in Bartholomew County Indiana when it was all taking place having dinner and drinks after doing a hard days work.

Thank heavens for start of the MLB baseball season.

FYI, my profile has been updated to include my name. Did not realize that I had left it out when I created the user profile. My bad.

Of course, it's interesting that earlier today you allowed an anonymous post to remain pending a response from the writer, yet tonight you have chosen to delete mine under the same circumstances. I never knew the color anonymous came in a variety of shades. Guess that's what I (and the other 799,999 people) get for disagreeing with the "thinking people".

Gentlemen, I guess what is great about this nation is that we can agree to disagree and no one gets thrown in a jail, or sent to some far off distant island to spend the rest of their days in solitude.

I for one find the air show at Thunder exhilarating and tax dollars well spent. I must tell you it makes me feel proud to be an American watching the Blue Angels performing their aerial acrobatics. I must even say when the Heritage flight came by, the P-51 along with the F-16 and F-18 I had a lump in my throat! I know that you all know this, but that freedom was given to us by fight and might, and that freedom is kept safe for us day and night by soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines.

When the Pilgrims left England, I don’t think King George said, “Fine, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!” This countries freedom had been paid for by the blood of our forefathers, their sons and so on. One of our greatest freedoms is that when I stand a recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, you don’t have too! And, I know that some of you don’t, but that again is your freedom of choice.

While I don’t feel the need anymore to fight the crowd by going to the river to watch the fireworks, I do feel a sense of pride when I hear the roar of a jet engine flying overhead and can see the force that keeps me and my family free!

One Nation under God, Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for ALL! FOR ALL! :-)

Thanks for your prompt and forthcoming response.

As for the instance you cite, there are rules ... and there are exceptions. I made the call with citizenspeak because (a) he/she has a long and established presence on local blogs (albeit in generally cowardly anonymity), and (b) he/she made a point worth addressing.

Thanks again. If it is possible to restore your previous comment, I will do so.
