If the City Editor of your hometown “newspaper” doesn’t know your business exists (for those readers just tuning in, please see the preceding article), then do you continue to buy advertising in it?
This and other questions are being asked by our friends at Destinations Booksellers, who were snubbed today by the Tribune’s Amany Ali during the course of a drearily misguided column about downtown redevelopment.
NA Confidential asks that our loyal readers let the Tribune know that there definitely is a bookstore in New Albany, and that we expect more from a newspaper that purports to be the voice of New Albany.
Do not use the automated submission form on the Tribune’s web site. In our experience, it rarely works. Instead, use both these e-mail addresses:
crmorris@news-tribune.net
tribnews@news-tribune.net
Thanks for your help.

What a shame for Ann & Randy. To both of you, please do not give up. For Ali, look right behind your building, there happens to be I-64 which can see downtown NA from the Sherman Minton, etc. Really bad reporting, but hey, this is New Albany Indiana, why should it not surprise me.
Here are my comments sent to Chris Morris, I mean every word Randy and Ann;
Chris you need to have Ms. Ali as well as you and your staff all publicly apologize to Randy and Ann Smith at Destinations Booksellers. They are working their tales off to make a difference in this community and to have what Ali did to them is real bad reporting and unacceptable. They are a huge bright spot for this side of the river when trying to help self educate and provide a service to all of us. Thank goodness they chose NA to set up shop. Hopefully your paper can make amends with these folks and work this out, before they take that fantastic bookstore else where.
The surreal aspect is enhanced when one considers that compared to the current shambles, the LaDuke era is beginning to appear like some sort of enlightenment.
Since none of you will ever read about this in the Tribune (as evidenced by their blatant ignorance of the existence of Destinations), I've learned that a new coffee house will be opening at 1515 East Market Street in the near future. The owner advises that it will be a Starbucks-style venue.
Let's hope they will spend their advertising dollars somewhere besides with the Tribune.
Hey, that's where I lived in 2003 (in back), and proposed at the time that it would make a good coffee place.
