Whither Quills' current New Albany space?

It stands to reason that if the roasting operation moves, there'll be room inside for an expansion of seating -- if this is desired.

... Composable Systems will move into the top two floors of the three-story firehouse next month. Meanwhile, the first floor of the 123-year-old firehouse will be transformed into a coffee shop for Quills, and the building on Shelby Street will become Quills’ new roastery. It currently roasts its coffee in New Albany but is running out of space.

 ... The site of the recently closed Taco Punk is popping up on the radars of a lot of restaurateurs and retailers, says Bill Marzian, who owns the NuLu property. He said it hasn’t even been formally listed, but there has been ample interest from people both within Louisville and from other cities.

NuLu gets the ink, but maybe there are other places ... other ways ... in which to nurture a concept.

Back when Taco Punk launched its Kickstarter campaign, Eater Louisville's then-kingpin Zach Everson was giving Taco Punk a very hard time.

Now Gabe's tacos, Zach and Eater itself all are gone. Time passes much too quickly when we're together eating ... and drinking.

Taco Punk is closing … again. This time, it sounds like it’s for real.

Gabe Sowder and his crew, who’ve been with him through thick and thin during three years, have posted the restaurant will close Friday, Oct. 3.

New Earth Friends Cafe location in NuLu now open.

Yesterday, with time to stroll prior to watching Richard tap firkins at The Garage Bar in NuLu, I hunted down Earth Friends Cafe's new location at 829 E. Market (that's Louisville). It opened on Wednesday.

The New Albany location inside the public library remains open, but the original space off Grant Line Road is no more; this is a relocation, not an expansion. The new digs are pleasant, and the espresso (my personal yardstick) was good. Because my appearance came just as Earth Friends was closing for the afternoon, I didn't take photos, but will next time.
