Art on the Parish Green returns this weekend with its 13th iteration.

Sans byline, here's the newspaper's article about Art on the Parish Green, which takes place Friday and Saturday. If you travel via Market Street, be aware that the eastbound lane was closed on Friday morning to facilitate the festival's setup.

The question-and-answer with Fran Fach is quite good; it's just not clear who conducted it, newspaper or festival. From a personal standpoint, it's bittersweet to see the beer sponsorship pass from NABC to Donum Dei; nothing whatever against the latter, but I was always proud to help out Art on the Parish Green during my time at NABC.

The only constant is change, and the good news is that Art on the Parish Green has not only survived. It has thrived.

EASY BEING GREEN: Art on the Parish Green celebrates 13th year

The popular Art on the Parish Green festival celebrates its 13th year this weekend at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 11th and Main streets in downtown New Albany.

The event, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, features nearly 100 select fine arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, a beer/wine garden, live music, a YMCA Kids Art Place, and a Jazz Mass on the Grass Sunday at 10 a.m.

Below is a Q&A with festival coordinator Fran Fach about this year’s event ...

The NA weekend calendar is filled with art and a garden party and music.

The 9th annual Art on the Parish Green takes place on Saturday and Sunday. The Culbertson Mansion's 3rd annual Garden Party is on Saturday night, after Art on the Parish Green wraps.

NABC has been delighted to be a part of these events since their inception.

I'm also told there'll be Black & Blue Grass available at tonight's Bicentennial Park concert.

During the month of June, New Albany Restaurant and Bar Association member businesses Fieldhaus, Big Four Burgers + Beer NA and River City Winery are catering adult beverages for the Friday night musical shows.

Thanks to Matt McMahan for pouring NABC Black & Blue Grass at these performances.

NABC tonight and tomorrow, in and out of town -- World Cup 2014 edition.

As a preface to the weekend event calendar, kindly permit me to begin with another reminder about NABC's World Cup Trilogy for 2014: USA vs. Ghana, Portugal and Germany. The fun begins on Monday at both NABC locations, with the release of Citra Passion Ale (USA vs. Ghana).

NABC honors the World Cup with three fresh, new beers honoring the three national football squads facing the USA in Group G of the opening round: Ghana, Portugal and Germany. Beginning on June 16, 2014, the beers will debut as the American squad’s opening matches are played. There’ll be many places in metro Louisville to view these contests — but how many of them created and brewed three new beers as specific accompaniment to the beautiful game, and the world’s biggest sporting event?

Just NABC. Do you see what local can do?

USA vs. Ghana – Citra Passion Ale
Release: Monday, June 16, at both NABC locations (Bank Street Brewhouse opens at 5 p.m.)

USA vs. Portugal – “Super Bock”
Release: Sunday, June 22 at Bank Street Brewhouse (Monday, June 23 at the Pizzeria & Public House)

USA vs. Germany – Sticke Alt
Release: Thursday, June 26, at both NABC locations (Bank Street Brewhouse opens at noon)

Now, the crowded weekend slate.

This weekend: Seventh Annual Art on the Parish Green.

The Seventh Annual Art on the Parish Green takes place this coming weekend (June 8 & 9) at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located just around the corner from my house.

St. Paul's is the oldest Episcopalian congregation in Indiana, dating back approximately 175 years. For Art on the Parish Green, the church's lovely historic grounds are given over to a multitude of handmade arts and crafts, with live music, food, NABC beer and River City Winery's vino.

In annual testimony to the possibilities of ecumenical thinking, sponsors of Art on the Parish Green include the city, Rep. Ed Clere, Develop New Albany and the New Albanian Brewing Company, with no green lines to be found. See, it actually can be done.

You can let them know you're coming at the Art on the Parish Green Facebook site.

Hail yeah.

Don't forget: Art on the Parish Green, today and Sunday. NABC's Tafel and Beak's Best will be available (thanks, Tabbatha) to accompany the former councilman's picking.

Beer ecumenism at Art on the Parish Green.

It is likely that Art on the Parish Green is the only event you'll see in 2012 with sponsors including NABC, Rep. Ed Clere and Develop New Albany. You see, ecumenical thinking in the context of beer drinking is alive and well even when we disagree on every other point.

NABC has provided beer for Art on the Parish Green since its inception, as coordinated and usually vended by one of our longtime Grant Line employees, Tabbatha Elble. Good luck and healthy sales to St. Paul's this weekend.

Art on the Parish Green is this weekend in New Albany; Festival features fine arts, crafts, music and food, by Daniel Suddeath (N and T)

NEW ALBANY — Crafts, art work and food as well as musical entertainment and local beer and wine are on tap this weekend for the annual Art on the Parish Green festival.

This marks the sixth year for the event, which will be Saturday and Sunday on the lawn of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, located at 1015 E. Main St. in downtown New Albany.

Fetch your calendars for NABC's forthcoming week in beer.

Here comes another weekend packed with craft beer events. I'll try to use this space each week to preview the busiest summer schedule in NABC's history. Are you ready?

THURSDAY, JUNE 2

In Huntingburg:
Dubois County Bombers vs. Nashville Outlaws
It's summer collegiate-level baseball, and NABC is on tap at League Stadium in Huntingburg as the Bombers begin the Prospect League season. Look for Beak's Best, Community Dark and Tafel Bier at the Craft Beer Bullpen down the third base line. From New Albany, it's about an hour's drive down scenic I-64 to Dubois County.

FRIDAY, JUNE 3

In New Albany:
Schad Bash: Rock for Rauch 2011
The law office of Schad & Schad is right across the parking lot from Bank Street Brewhouse, and we're happy to join the fun at the first annual Schad Bash, which begins at 8:00 p.m. Music will be provided by the Louisville Crashers, and Rosa L. Stumblebus will be on hand for the pouring of NABC drafts. The beneficiary is Rauch, Inc., for 63 years providing opportunities for the physically and mentally handicapped in Southern Indiana.

In Lawrenceburg, Indiana:
First Friday "Party in the Street"
Our brewing friends from Great Crescent (Aurora) and Powerhouse (Columbus) will be vending Indiana-brewed craft beer, including some of NABC's -- Dan from GCB brokered the deal, and we're thanking him for thinking about us.

SATURDAY, JUNE 4

In Clarksville, Indiana:
6th Annual Keg Liquors Fest of Ale
Keg Liquors owner Todd Antz didn't waste time complaining when he learned that the BIG fest in Bloomington was to be held on the same day as his own gathering. He just went out and assembled the best Fest of Ale lineup ever, including this year's newest innovation: The House of Hops. Rock on, Todd, and read this news item from Daniel Suddeath in the News and Tribune: Hey you, beer me! Fest of Ales set for Saturday.

In Bloomington, Indiana:
First Annual Bloomington Craft Beer Fest
Formerly Rad Fest at Upland Brewing, this event has morphed into an officially sanctioned Brewers of Indiana Guild fest, and more than 30 of Indiana's 40-ish breweries are expected to attend, including the newest of the bunch. Purely exhaustive information can be found here, and online/venueSearch.jsp?venue_id=7895" target="_blank">tickets are on sale now.

In New Albany, Indiana (also on Sunday):
Fifth Annual Art on the Parish Green
St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located just around the corner from my house, is the oldest Episcopalian congregation in Indiana, dating back approximately 175 years. For Art on the Parish Green, the church's lovely historic grounds are given over to a multitude of arts and crafts, with live music, food and NABC beer. It takes place on Saturday and Sunday, and you can let them know you're coming at the Art on the Parish Green Facebook site.

SUNDAY, JUNE 5

In (outside of) Greenville, Indiana:
Capriole Spring Open House
It's the semi-annual open house at Capriole Farms, makers of the sublime goat cheese, without which my household would cease to function in a culinary sense. I'll be there, packing NABC beers for pairing with goat cheeses, and using the cheat sheet that Chef Matt and I devised last week. My advice is to get there early, because folks come from miles around for this one.

In Huntingburg:
Dubois County Bombers vs. Danville Dans

In New Albany:
Fifth Annual Art on the Parish Green

Am I forgetting anything? Let me know.
