Clere's first session isn't easy; GOP freshman works 'below the radar', by Lesley Stedman Weidenbener (Courier-Journal).
... Clere doesn't view the issue as a Republican or Democratic dispute. He thinks it's an institutional problem or maybe a leadership issue.
"We're at a point in the session where we're about to send our bills over to the Senate," Clere said. "… And I look back at all the good bills, all the good ideas that never even got a hearing -- both Republican and Democrat. We've just wasted a lot of time."

C-J question & answer with Rep. Ed Clere.
Is he talking about the Indiana legislature or New Albany's city council?

Maybe he should discuss the possibility of getting rid of the state's fleet of planes. After the Big three Auto CEOs got a tongue lashing you would think everyone would be flying commercial to Washington DC.
Doubtful Clere is flying to and fro.
C'mon, give this gentleman a chance to see what he can do progressive that Cochran did not.
I suggest a year of Mr. Clere in his position before his electors send him to either the dis- chambers or with backing of all said Southern Indiana strong to another session.
Let the man wade the waters for a while. Invite him into the progressive thoughts and let us mold him instead of throwing darts at him before he has time to learn what we all would desire him to do for the betterment of the area. We have not had that in the last umpteen years. Way, too much of the good ol' boy club.
Yes Mr. Cochran did a lot of good for many in the area; IUS would be a huge benefactor, but what about the middle class that need representation presently and in the future?
