RECAP: Jeffersonville Pride Festival and Parade, 2016.
From Hannegan Roseberry, Vice-President of Southern Indiana Equality
---
Thanks to all of you who were able to attend last weekend's inaugural Jeffersonville Pride Festival and Parade! It was a pleasure to see many familiar faces and to meet so many new folks! We want your involvement and support as we move forward with the goal of making love louder than hate. Stay tuned as we finalize details for our upcoming quarterly meeting - I'll send info soon!
In the meantime, here are some ways to be involved:

One last thank you to all who volunteered to help run the booths and/or walk in the parade with SIE last weekend. Your involvement helps us to grow stronger!
Thanks again,

Southern Indiana Equality seeks "volunteers for the upcoming Jeffersonville Pride parade and festival on Saturday, June 25."
Forwarded from the e-mail.
The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy.
Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar,
but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater,
but you do not murder hate.
In fact, violence merely increases hate.
So it goes.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence,
adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
-- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Greetings!
Never has it been a more important to support the LGBTQIA+ communities in celebrating Pride. The world is reeling from last weekend's tragedy in Orlando, with many feeling helpless on how to respond, help out, and show support.
We are recruiting volunteers for the upcoming Jeffersonville Pride parade and festival on Saturday, June 25. We would love to invite all of you to be part of this historic event - we want a huge crowd gathered to send the clear message that love is stronger than hate.
We would love to have a large group to walk with Southern Indiana Equality in the parade, plus we'll need additional volunteers to be with us in the booths during the day. The more the merrier at the parade! If you would be willing to do a one or two hour shift in a booth, that would also be amazing! The booths will run from noon until around 8 PM and we will take all the help we can get!
Please let me know if you would like to be involved, and please send this on to anyone and everyone that you think might want to join in. Just have people email me directly for more information and to schedule times for the booths.
This is an important time to come together to celebrate Pride. Thanks in advance for your support.
