Tonight: NABC at Jeff Main Street's 8th annual Chili & Brew Bonanza.

I'm trying to recall exactly how many of Jeffersonville Main Street's previous chili and beer tasting events that NABC has attended; this is the sixth, maybe the seventh one. New Albanian Brewing Company beers on hand this afternoon will be Beak's Best, Black & Blue Grass, Community Dark & Gold. There'll also be a special Hoosier Daddy sampling at the mid-point. It'll be artist extraordinaire Tony Beard and me doing the sample pouring, and we're looking forward to it.

We hope to see you in Jeffersonville on Thursday, March 7 for the 8th Annual Chili & Brew Bonanza! It takes place at Kye's II, 500 Missouri Avenue from 5:30pm-8:30pm. We'll have 20 chili recipes for you to sample, a variety of brews to taste, live music, a silent auction, and lots of fun.

Coming Thursday, February 12: Jeff Main Street's annual chili and beer tasting at Kye's.

NABC will be there again this year. It's a fun event, held in a building that is an excellent local example of adaptive reuse. Note the "shop local" logo among the sponsorships. It reminds me of "Make (and only then keep) New Albany Weird."

Jeffersonville Main Street's Smart Growth Summit 2008 is September 17.

You're invited to attend Jeffersonville Main Street Inc.'s 3rd Annual Smart Growth Summit on Wednesday, September 17 from noon-4:30 p.m. in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It is an educational afternoon of great talks about how we can best use our built and natural spaces to make our communities more livable.

This year's theme is "25 Ways You Can Improve Your Community." The event takes place in an historic rail car factory that has been preserved as a meeting facility called Kye's at Water Tower Square. We hope to see you there.

Jeff Main Street chili & beer bash rescheduled for Tuesday, April 1.

Jeff Main Street's first try at its 3rd annual chili and beer fundraiser was postponed by bad weather in early February, but they're set to give it another shot on April Fool's Day.


This is no joke! NABC, BBC and Upland will be there to pour beer samples, and if last year's event is any indication, there'll be an abundance of fine chili. I'm hoping to see a New Albanian contingent for this one.

POSTPONEMENT tonight: Jeffersonville Main Street's "Chili and Beer Bonanza."

With Southern Indiana shutting down owing to the threat of icy road conditions, the organizers have decided to err in the favor of caution and postpone tonight's chili and beer fundraiser in Jeffersonville.
