Have some cake at Cafe 157's grand opening on Tuesday, May 17.

It's the new cafe/gallery/gift shop business located in the former Bread & Breakfast space at 157 E. Main.

Breakfast and lunch served daily 8-4 in a historic business district with local artwork featured and home style food.

The grand opening is slated for 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17.

Come say hello and have some cake!

IL says: An art gallery, Chestnuts and Pearls, will operate at the former Bread and Breakfast location in downtown New Albany.

NAC subscribes to Insider Louisville's "Monday Business Briefing," which periodically disgorges useful chunks of knowledge.

As IL's stable of writers has expanded during the past year, there seems to be less of the tacky mandated breathlessness ("Papa John makes even more money -- YAY") that once annoyed readers so greatly. That's something to be thankful for, indeed.

Today, as I continue scratching my head in puzzlement as to where IL got its Bread and Breakfast scoop last month, Caitlin Bowling fills in the blanks at 157 E. Main Street in New Albany. Click through and scroll down to read the rest.

Art gallery, bed and breakfast relocates to New Albany

Last month, Insider Louisville told you that Bread and Breakfast had closed and a new business was moving in to 157 E. Main St. Chestnuts and Pearls, an art gallery, antique shop and one-room bed and breakfast, is said business.

Owner Linda Williams is selling Old Bridge Inn, a five-room B&B in Jeffersonville that she ran for more than a decade, and is moving her business to New Albany. She’s also shaking up the business model a bit.
