That's an ironclad rule in the Confidential household; leave town whenever possible for Thunder over Louisville (which was COVID-canceled this year), and hunker down in or near the hacienda on D-Day. May or September, there's no difference, even without 150,000 spectators.
Anyone who believes a horse race is part of the healing process simply doesn't understand the nature of gambling. However, flying dogs arguably are different, as with my morning's post at F&D.
