Open thread: The May 6 primary election.

I'll be in Cincinnati today to see the Reds and Cubs, and hoist a few at the Hofbrauhaus in Newport. In in the absence of time to write (all my votes were for losing candidates, anyway), let's open the floor for a discussion of yesterday's political events.

Shadow has a few things to say about it: Hammered for Hil.

  1. Obama's appeal runs far deeper than "mystique," but the time for that discussion is over. Let's heed Shadow's advice and look to November. The stakes are too high.

  3. I expect the Republicans will do quite well locally given the nominees who were elected tuesday, particularly on the council at large and the newly created court pitting a well respected and heavily experienced attorney Rick Fox, a candidate who has appeal to Democrats and Republicans against an inexperienced Maria Granger who received just over 50% of the primary vote despite the fact she had the backing of party insiders.
