Jeff's city council nudges ever closer to the "smoking ban" precipice.

Just down the information superhighway at NA Health, the resident Healthblogger is right on top of last evening’s Jeffersonville City Council four-to-three vote in favor of a smoking “ban,” with a third and final reading yet to come.

Jeff votes to uphold smoking ban.
This guarantees cynics like me another two glorious weeks of escalating controversy, fear and loathing, and uproarious entertainment. As Healthblogger sensibly notes, imagining a similar scene in New Albany’s city council chamber is almost unimaginably juicy.

  1. One advantage we have around here is that there are several local government entities in very close proximity to each other. Clarksville's government officials seem to be of the opinion that businesses should be able to make the decision on whether to allow smoking or not on their private property. I suggest that any business concerned about their private property rights in this local area move their business to Clarksville.
