New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?

That amphitheater over there? Let's use it for a change.
New Albany's Riverfront Amphitheater is a valuable but sadly underutilized physical asset. Yes, it has issues, though they certainly are not beyond repair.
As tonight's music and fireworks event (below) once again will illustrate, folks are disposed to enjoy the amphitheater when given a good reason to do so.
The city has spent much money in recent years staging temporary events at temporary venues downtown, but what we really need is a master plan for reinvestment in the amphitheater. Apart from special occasions like tonight, it simply isn't the city's job to be a concert promoter.
Rather, the city's job is to maintain the civic infrastructure suitable for others to plan and stage such events, and this is what I propose to do as mayor.
