NA-FC schools referendum is defeated.

The school referendum in Floyd County began antiseptically and ended emotionally, but perhaps this one comment, appended to the News and Tribune's story, best illustrates a common perception, one the NA-FC school corporation never has tried to address -- and probably never will.

I hope the schools will try the referendum again when taxpayers are feeling better about the economy. I think many were annoyed with the proposed new schools when schools were closed. It would have been better to repair the leaking windows at Greenville Elementary than put in artificial turf at the high school football fields.

Here is Jerod Clapp's brief summary from last night: 8:30 P.M. UPDATE: Voters say ‘no’ to NA-FC schools referendum.
