It's hard to tell, but the speed tables by the amphitheater on Water Street apparently are finished.

The table at the intersection of Water Street and E. 6th has disappeared entirely, leaving a lengthy stretch of roadway suitable for excessive speed, plus whatever havoc might be created by incoming traffic ignoring the stop sign.

The new speed tables offer a slight undulation.

It's hard to come away from this project without thinking that cars will be moving a good deal faster than before, irrespective of the posted speed limit, primarily because the speed table changes make it more possible than before.

And we don't enforce speed in New Albany even when we don't make it more, not less, likely.

But at least didn't cost 100 grand. Just 90.

The mayors' $90,000 riverfront speed tables are being uninstalled and reinstalled. Again.
