New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?

Northern Road Trip, Day 11: A couple thousand miles later, back where we started.
Dubuque was in the rear view mirror by 5:45 a.m., followed by several hundred miles of your favorite Great American Midwestern Interstate. Seven hours later, we were home, finishing about 60 miles shy of 2,000 for the journey.
No, I'm not customarily a road trip kind of guy. Cars are not my thing. I'd rather take trains ... if we had them.
Still, it was fun. Not as fun as Europe ... but you know how it is with beggars like me.
