"New Albany's first LGBT bar is now open."

Both Greg Phipps and Larry Summers are reporting that the Warehouse Bar on State Street, recently under new management, will become the city's first LGBT bar. This comment on Facebook sums it up for me:

LGBT Businesses would definitely NOT tell someone they are not welcome!... unlike some other businesses that I have read about. Having said that... It is a bar, and if you go there expect to see people comfortable in their environment, to behave without fear of being judged. Gay bars are very welcoming places for all! I am always optimistic when I see something bridging the gap between acceptance and un-acceptance. Bravo New Albany! I'm sure none of this is new information for the city. I would think that the City Leaders are well aware that to borrow a quote from "The Best Little Whore House in Texas."... "New Albany's got a Gay Bar in it...

  7. I still think it universally sad that LGBT individuals have to go to a designated LGBT bar to be comfortable and judgement free. Society just needs to coexist regardless of sexuality. On that note, I'm glad that New Albany does have a welcoming venue until that time comes.

  9. Everyone is entitled to their own preference in life whether you understand or not. I have several L&G friends and they are very dear to me. They deserve to be happy and love just the same as the rest of us. This is the 21st century and I think everyone deserves to be accepted. We all answer for our own actions and to judge them is not our place. Can't we all just get along? This world is filled with so much turmoil, why not worry about something worth while like our troops being killed on foreign soils ro our homeless families in Indiana, our president that is running our country in the ground! Don't like the concept of the LGBT then just stay away from there! God loves us all!
