Broken Bells: A musical update for mid-February.

The group is Broken Bells (Brian "Danger Mouse" Burton and James Mercer of the Shins), the album is After the Disco, and it is my official ear worm for mid-February. The Bee Gees vocal turn in "Holding On for Life" is both eerie and compelling.

Also in heavy rotation at the moment is Weekend, by the Swedish band The Sounds; it's a 2013 release I'm just coming to enjoy. Meanwhile, I read that Neil Finn has an album coming out, along with new music from Neon Trees, the Hold Steady and Wild Beasts. This musical year is shaping up nicely, indeed.
