New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?

To the GTMW: Saturday, August 10, at the fest itself.
There is little to be written about the Great Taste of the Midwest that adds to what I've written since 2007, which was my first time in attendance. It's simply special: Equal parts trade show, family reunion, beer festival and religious immersion. We usually begin at the Farmers Market on the streets around the Capitol (above) and then gather on the lake shore with the NABC crew (below) to set up and serve the 6,000 or so attendees.

View at the end of the day?
