Food and drink, restaurants and bars: Meeting on Monday, May 6.

A few independent downtown food and drink purveyors got together last week to discuss steps toward a more formal arrangement -- perhaps an organized association.

Restaurants and bars have been driving downtown revitalization, and the next logical step is to work together more closely to help ourselves in a professional sense (the ATC, the health department, day-to-day business matters, event promotion), as well as continuing to promote forward progress in terms of infrastructure and other future concerns.

Our next meeting will be at The Exchange (118 W. Main Street) on Monday, May 6 at 3:00 p.m. We'd like to see owners or representatives of as many New Albany establishments as possible, and we'll be spreading out to try to contact everyone in the coming weeks. Thoughts or ideas? Please send them to me, or call. We genuinely want to know what our peers are thinking as we move into the summer.
