Rob and Karen pointed me to this collection of Soviet anti-alcohol posters at io9, of which there are so many that we might establish a new wing of the Red Room.
The first image at the site ("Life as a sober and an alcoholic man") strikes me as pre-Soviet in character in its depiction of bearded peasants. Perhaps my favorite is the one shown above. It strikes me as an accurate representation of my life as a professional drinker.
