Alien ashtray invasion feared as Clean & Green returns to Board of Works.

The Green Mouse reports that Keep New Albany Clean & Green's Irv Stumler will attend today's Board of Public Works meeting seeking approval for 20-40 additional symptom abatement Band-Aids ... er, make that "planters," in the downtown area.

For those contemplating attendance, or to inquire as to why some of the upcoming $19 million bond windfall cannot be devoted to  a handful of standard $430 trash receptacles, the board's weekly meeting will be held at that ever-convenient hour of 10:00 a.m.

  1. Why not spend a few hundred dollars and install replacement light bulbs in the S. Ellen Jones park light fixtures?

The last time I noticed, there was only one light fixture that worked on the east side of the park. The rest are burned out.

Want to have some fun? Call the school board and ask them to replace the light bulbs (the school system owns the park property). They'll tell you it's the city's responsibility.

Call the city, and they will tell you it's Duke Energy's responsibility.

Call Duke, and they will tell you it's the school board's responsibility.

The cost of one of these planters would pay for a few light bulbs for the park...

  2. Do you mind if I reprint this on the marquee? That's a classic story.

  3. If it will help get lights in the park at night, please do.
