Pierce: "This Week In The Laboratories Of Democracy."
From unconcealed weapons to weighted sex questionnaires, and from mandatory photos of fetuses on state web sites to John Birch Society research on property rights, madcap state legislators -- primarily Republican -- continue to insist: It's the ephemera, stupid. Pierce's looks at the nation's "laboratories" of right-wing social non-engineering are a regular feature of his politics blog.
