Dave Matthews just hates that Glenda Ritz won.

As always, setting a fine example for our school children.

Laughing out loud.

NEWS AND TRIBUNE LETTERS — For Dec. 11: GOP head wants campaigning out of schools, by Dave Matthews, chairman, Floyd County Republican Party

A huge percentage of parents are tired of the antics of the ISTA and a small number of bad teachers. We feel this kind of “education” has no place in schools that our taxes are paying for.

  1. How was the school board to monitor such things when some of them were so busy openly campaigning for Bennett?

  2. Not such a "huge percentage" that Bennett still lost by a bunch. Odd reasoning, Dave.

  3. Likewise, the ISTA represents the large majority of teachers in the state. So, are they fed up with a large majority of teachers or just a small number? It's fun to watch them disparage the ISTA and then deny they have anything against teachers as if they aren't related.

Of course, none of this addresses the content, pedagogy, and concurrent socioeconomic conditions that impact classroom learning every day. That would take the sort of analytical intelligence that doesn't jive with the blind, chamber of commerce ideology driving education "reform" in Indiana.
