That said, we learned last week that David Duggins would become New Albany's Director of Economic Development. Now, it is revealed that Carl Malysz will remain on the city's payroll. Sometimes, you pick the wrong horse and still manage to win, but don't ask the deposed Chief Bailey to explain that particular dynamic.
I suppose there's a primary question to be answered: Is overseeing the NSP different from being its program manager?
That sigh of relief you hear is coming from the Elsby Building ...
Malysz gets new job; Part of Duggins’ salary will come from EDIT money, by Daniel Suddeath (OSIN Pop-Up Generator)
NEW ALBANY — Carl Malysz has been hired by New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan to serve as director of community housing initiatives for the city.
Malysz most recently served as deputy mayor and director of community development for Mayor Doug England from 2008 to 2011 ...
... According to a statement released Tuesday, Malysz will oversee existing community housing projects like the Midtown Neighborhood Stabilization Program and the Linden Meadows redevelopment ...
... Part of Duggins’ $60,000 annual salary will be paid from Economic Development Income Tax money, with the remainder coming through tax abatement funds.
Just another example of Gahan's broken promises; he is setting a new record for the earliest in losing the public trust in the history of New Albany Mayoral administrations
ReplyDeleteBut I almost forgot to give Gahan credit he did get Carl for the bargain price of 75K instead of the 85K he got under England
ReplyDeleteDoes Carl have any worth in your opinion, EW? If so, at what salary level? If not, what should a position(s) that Carl has held pay for a "qualified" person?
ReplyDeleteno carl has no worth he has been the rasputin of new albany since the 1980's. Regina Overton is the only mayor who had the leadership to do what needed to be done: fire him! I believe roger raises a legitimate question, is this newly created position necessary or is this some sort of political payback gahan owes to the England faction
ReplyDeleteOkay, thanks.
ReplyDeleteBoo.
ReplyDeleteI though Malysz was aiming to bring home the deal for RiverView and then jump over to their employment so they have knowledge of manipulating the city. This is textbook E.D. 101. Only work for the city till you can jump to one of the "deals" you're pulling for yourself, oops, I mean the residents.
ReplyDeleteThe corruption continues. For $75,000 with benefits and pension, couldn't Gahan think of anyone who is qualified? We need fresh blood here like a vampire. But I guess we get another vampire.
Gahan will be one term
ReplyDeleteagain I forgot to give gahan credit, he saved the city 30k by kicking matt denison to the curb, someone who actually earned his pay, well I guess he had to find some money to keep Malysz
ReplyDeleteAnother question that should be raised is this position Gahan gift wrapped for Malysz approved by the currently adopted budget of the NA city council?
