Comments favor one Ohio River bridge now - Tolls not popular in feedback after project adds possibility, by Marcus Green, Courier-Journal
Build one bridge now. Make it in eastern Jefferson County. And don’t ask us to pay tolls.
That’s the public’s early reaction to the most recent proposed changes to the Ohio River Bridges Project, according to a Courier-Journal analysis of hundreds of public comments obtained under the Kentucky Open Records Act.
New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?

One bridge? No tolls? No kidding.
The obvious is just as obvious when written down in the permanent record, especially the Bridges Politburo doing exactly what's expected of it when it gets the answers it didn't want to the questions it didn't dare ask out loud.
65 south backed up 3 miles from Kennedy this morning. Actually get on the bridge and traffic headed south is moving just fine. The problem? All the vehicles that need to go EAST.
ReplyDeleteEast!! As in EAST END BRIDGE.
I had to head East yesterday from 65 South for the first time in months. It was a Sunday evening and there was a back-up.
ReplyDeleteI noticed three things: 1)The South-bound lanes were slowed because of the East-bound issues. 2)Lane stripes had just been painted and 3)The pothole situation in the right (East-bound) lane was atrocious. It appeared to be intentionally neglected; almost begging for a slow down.
I mentioned point #2 simply to highlight the fact that they clearly have not intention of fixing point #3 anytime soon. A play for public outcry perhaps?
