Personally speaking.

Plane tickets from SDF to BOS: Check.

Ducats for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon games, Red Sox vs. Texas Rangers, at Fenway Park: Check.

U2 360 tour tickets for the show at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey: Check.

Still need Amtrak tickets BOS-NYC-BOS, someplace for us to sleep while in Boston, my cousin's plans for the family reunion in Concord MA later the same week, a New England brewery locations map, and a wheelbarrow of cash.

But: The 50th birthday trip planning exercise for July is coming along nicely. Maybe a year without Europe won't be so bad, after all.

  3. Enjoy your time up in my old stomping grounds. Say "hi" to Fenway Pahk for me. Clearly you've got a full itinerary, but if you had a spare few hours, I would recommend shooting north to Gloucester (the town of The Perfect Storm - and the High School Pregnancy Pact!) to check out Cape Ann Brewing Co., only a few years old but making some tasty treats. I'll be going there for a couple pints just one week after your Sox/Rangers games.

But then again, there are LOTS of good craft brewers in the area. There's the one right across the street from Fenway Park, too. Great place to spend the pre-game hours.

  4. Thanks. You can bet I will. We'll have several days to bum around, and of course, I don't like to be far away from good beer.

  5. Oh, it's Boston Beer Works that's right outside Fenway. They have a location in Salem, too, near all the witchy stuff. http://www.beerworks.net/html/locations_home.html

Cape Ann Brewing Co. is at http://www.capeannbrewing.com/ Be aware that they close at 9PM nightly (stupid local lawmakers). Gloucester bars can stay open MUCH later, but not those evil brewpubs!
