Some afternoon porno irreverence.

No doubt with Reclaim Our Culture Kentuckiana's recent propaganda barrage ringing in his ears, one of my friends posted this comment on Facebook:

According to google, Louisville is number one, two years running, when it comes to internet users searching for porn! As a former Louisvillian, I have never been more proud!!!
I replied:

Finally, some recognition. The flip side of it is that many of us hereabouts are so backward, we didn't actually FIND any of it.
I say: Keep it local. Makes you wonder why people bother with the Internet when Cleopatra's is right down the street ... and on the way to the boat.

  1. If they went to Cleopatra's, they might recognize each other from church.

  2. I was curious about this statistic so I did some internet searching myself, only on the topic of internet porn statistics. I found a site that claimed:

    1. Louisville 5th for internet searches of “Porn.” (Note this could also be someone googling “anti porn group”).

    2. Louisville not in top 10 for searching “xxx.”

    3. Louisville 4th for searching “sex.” (Again, this also includes people googling “sex education,” etc.)

Also note that the United States was not in the top 10 nations for googling these words.

  3. Clarify, Louisville 5th among US cities, not cities internationally.

  4. Shouldnt we try to keep all our business dollars here, as opposed to spending them in Louisville...even if its for the purchase of porn?

Besides, who wants to drive all the way over to 7th and Berry Blvd? Its much safer to buy local!

  5. I'm not sure "safer" is a word I would've chosen. Our prudishness keeps us from effectively regulating the industry. But it's probably better if we just don't talk about it, right? LOL.

  6. where else but in the buckle of the bible belt would you see so many secretive homebased searches for sex/porn/xxx.

Rock can go roll away. I would LOVE the opportunity to install monitoring software on ALL of the computers of ALL their members to see just how true to the cause they are.

I do remember years ago the group that predated ROCK, their VP was arrested for soliciting for prostitution in a part of louisville that not even I would venture too.

ROCK is full of propaganda. They bring their fight to New Albany (even though they are based in Louisville) because they know they will never make progress there. Does no one find it odd that why they care soo much for a city that they are not even based in? other than political reasons? shouldn't they take care of things in their own backyard first?
