Ordinances are now being introduced.
R-09-12 Resolution to Investigate Feasibility for Motorcycles, Cross-Over and Alternative Vehicles for the Police Department.
Police Chief Crabtree: Certain of the cross-over and alternative vehicles cost more than the generaly sanctioned (and grant supported) Crown Vic. Motorcycles only slightly less. The cost savings get cancelled out by the expense of equipping vehicles for police work. The chief has researched for a onth, and thinks he needs more time. So far, he's surprised to see the lack of difference.
Price: Accidents on motorcycles?
Crabtree: Depends on training. Louisville experimented with them, then withdrew them. Motorcycles are great "public relations tools." In essence, thinks there are possibilities and needs more time to investigate, especially motorcycles.
Resolution amended to allow until more time, until December, and then approved.
Z-09-08 An Ordinance for the Vacation of an Existing Utility Easement ... etc.
Mr. Boofter is here. It's an alley off Knobview. Subdivision from 1926, house built in the early 1950's. I really can't hear a word he's saying beyond urging it to be vacated. Apparently the people have bene caring for the easement for "quite some time." 1st reading approved unanimously
A-09-08 Additional Appropriation Ordinance for the EDIT Fund
A motion is taken to rearrange the order of the agenda, and Price reads it. 2nd the 3rd readings. Both readings approved unanimously. Apparently this is the vaunted paving ordinance.

No explanation of what it is, and taken out of turn. 2nd and 3rd readings approved unanimously.
Coffey is pushing through with breakneck speed. Is American Idol on television evening?
