Yawn.

Thursday’s posting at Freedom to Screech seemed too well written to be emanating from the trognonymous dungeon, and sure enough, it’s another bit of unattributed petty thievery.

MARK - TO – MARKET

In fact, the words were swiped from the forums section at the Wall Street Journal and were written by Benjamin M. Cole, PhD, who works in the Management Systems Department of Fordham University's Graduate School of Business Administration.

In other words, an educated writer who uses his own name, being plagiarized by an uneducated one who hides behind a contrived pseudonym and shrieks about the "rules."

How very, very old-school New Albanian. I hope muy use of the word "school" doesn't offend the pretend-prof.

  1. Ah, plagiarism and anonymity, topped off my a desire to be taken seriously. I never cease to be amazed.

  2. About the city attorney's contract, FOS wrote:

    Was this contract advertised to take bids

    Really? Low bid contract for attorneys? Heck, why don't we just get some law students to run the city? Maybe someone from legal aid could help? I'm sure there's jobless attorney willing to take the work in exchange for food. I mean, anyone can do it, right?

    I joke....but......maybe Coffey will want to start a lawsuit over this professional services contract too.

    Quality attorneys save money; cheap attorneys cost money. Big for-profit corporations get that. As with most of Vicky's posts, she doesn't.

    In the long run, sometimes quality is cheaper than low bid. She is not for accountable government when she wants government to waste money paying low bid attorneys who don’t know what they’re doing.

  3. With the city’s failure to…

    1. bring in jobs by providing competitive incentives for businesses to move to New Albany instead of Louisville or Clarksville;

    2. keep recent college graduates from permanently moving away by not investing in parks, cultural amenities and quality affordable neighborhoods; and

    3. fight crime and improve property values with simply, affordable and proven techniques like code enforcement and beautification;

    maybe the bicentennial slogan should be…..

    New Albany: Penny Wise and Pound Foolish.

  4. I wonder which of the FOS "staff" made this mistake?

  5. I don’t know, but the copy-editing and fact checking departments could use some work.

  6. Great, now I'm getting spammed by the "staff" at FOS on my email account. Apparently I'm supposed to be outraged about Shane Gibson?
