New Albany is a state of mind … but whose? Since 2004, we’ve been observing the contemporary scene in this slowly awakening old river town. If it’s true that a pre-digital stopped clock is right twice a day, when will New Albany learn to tell time?
There are a lot of people taking credit for what's happening. Let's remember the true heroes here are the property owners who are actually investing their time, money and future in the downtown. The rest of us are just lending support where we can.
Hats off to the ones actually doing the work and making the investments.
That investment made by the property owners is going to be a huge investment for the community. I am reminded of what Neil Armstrong said when stepping onto the moon:
"One small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."
In this case, the step is for one building to be improved with the greater improvement (the giant leap) for the community at large.
Indeed. The word "phoenix" comes to mind. Major kudos to all involved.
ReplyDeleteI'll second that.
