More good press for Tacos La Rosita.

In yesterday's Indiana Weekly supplement:

Taqueria proprietor's roots reach to Mexico, by Cynthia Schultz (Special to The Courier-Journal).

"I have always had a passion for cooking," said Landin, who moved to New Albany in July and opened La Rosita Taqueria on Charlestown Road. The restaurant is a tiny place where diners can watch Landin whip up rib-eye tacos, pambazo and Mexican-style chicken as they wait.

This month, Landin plans to open La Rosita Grill on Market Street, while maintaining his original business.

That's the site of the defunct California's -- just down the street from Tommy Lancaster's.

  1. I found a jewel of a Mexican Bakery on Eastern Blvd behind Michel Tire; believe it is located in the old US Army Recruiting Center. In any event, it is awesome. Have been going to Mex Bakes since traveling to California. The goods are fresh, light and fluffy with wonderful flavor.

  2. More Clarksville machinations:

There is a La Rosita supermarket just off of Lewis and Clark on Blackiston. This appears rather developed for simply a mom and pop.
Also Buffalo Madison Coffee is opening where Jim's place was on Slate Run and Charlestown.

  3. CannonFarms,

I assume from location that the school purchase has something to do with Scribner. Any idea what they're up to? I just recently heard a lot of positive things about the school and good schools are certainly an important selling point for a community.

I've always found it interesting that a lot of people seem to have a negative view of New Albany schools even though they consistently test higher than their counterparts in surrounding counties.
