With a timeliness and vigor entirely uncharacteristic of the New Albany Tribune, Thursday articles already are posted on the newspaper’s web site.
The Tribune’s City Editor Amany Ali authors pieces on last night’s uproarious City Council meeting as well as yesterday’s important Adult DVD court decision.
Both articles are well-reported. Score two for Ali.
In particular, Ali provides this wonderful quote from Mayor James Garner on the topic of innkeeper Valla Ann Bolovschak’s blistering denunciation of Garner’s error-ridden administration:
"The only reason she could have an ax to grind is because my (dry cleaning) business has dealings with the owners of a competitive bed and breakfast of hers."
Like Pinocchio’s phallic nose, Mayor Garner’s innate disingenuousness becomes ever more prominent.
Ali Adult DVD report yields something not reported by the Courier-Journal’s Ben Zion Hershberg: Not satisfied with the $69,000 already poured down the drain by the city, Councilman Dan Coffey has advocated a war chest of up to $100,000 to help protect the city from Adult DVD.
Considering the many tangible benefits this money could bring to the city of New Albany, it’s obvious that neither the administration nor Coffey have a clue in this matter.
Gentlemen, can one of you contribute something of genuine merit to the notion of vision for New Albany's future? If not, would you mind terribly just going away and making room for someone who can?
