New Albany's new slogan: "Truck Through City" ... Part 88: Coffee break's over, BOW. Back on your heads.

Street Grid Quote of the Week, from frequent reader DH:

"At least no one is trying to bring back the drag strip light at Spring & 15th. Only light I ever saw that went yellow going from red to green."

SHHHH -- don't give them any ideas, DH.

In honor of the primary election, we took last week off, but out there, in humid light of day, it's still Truck Through City. Here are a few links the Bored of Works may have missed.

City Hall non-transparency yet again: Independent downtown businesses negatively impacted by Saturday farmers market street closing.

Drive like your family lives here ... because your choices matter.

"Really do it right": Transue rebuts Morris's street grid confusion.

Paris: "Seeing the city in another way than through the use of cars."

Our street grid + human rights + social justice = what needs to happen right now.

The problem remains that while the Board of Works dithers and yawns at the terrified mayor's behest, we have unsafe high-speed, truck-filled streets slicing through neighborhoods struggling to revive. We're being told that 18 months must elapse to even consider implementing safe design?

Is that really acceptable, Chairman Naps?

This last weekend up on my neck of spring was particularly rough. At least 3 accidents, one set of kids nearly hit at spring and Thomas, one adult just rode his bike right in front of cars, nearly getting hit and almost causing a multiple MVA. And one particularly nice fellow racing back and forth in his primered mustang gt at high speed over and over
