Ohio River Greenway in the news.

It is fitting from time to time to check in with the Ohio River Greenway project, which some day will provide a pain-free walking and bicycling link between Bank Street Brewhouse and the forthcoming Flat12 taproom in Jeffersonville.

Recently it was announced that the Ohio River Greenway would be coming into some much-needed cash, as DNA explains in a news release:

The Ohio River Greenway in Floyd County is expected to receive a $2 million dollar contribution. Half of the contribution will come from an anonymous donor (thank you anonymous donor!) and the other a match from the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County (Thank You Horseshoe Foundation!).
Greenway officials are expected to focus on plans for the Western portions of the Ohio River Greenway in Floyd County. The eastern edge of New Albany’s segment of the Greenway begins at Silver Creek. Still to be completed are two segments: from the Sherman Minton Bridge to West 10th Street and between East Eighth to East 18th streets.
