Springfield, Missouri is quite a confluence of religion and politics.

The General Council of the Assemblies of God is headquartered in Springfield.

Jim Bakker, Tammy Faye Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart are among the many leaders in the Assembly of God denomination. Some of the other ecumenical leaders in the Assemblies of God are Billy, Ned and Franklin Graham. Elvis Presley was also a member of the Assemblies of God.
